Your voice matters. You're not just a user โ you're helping shape the future of reading and storytelling.
Start Recording: Begins listening to your voice and highlights the words as you read aloud.
Stop: Ends the recording session and stops the word tracking.
Restart: Clears your progress and resets the text to the beginning.
Save Recording: Downloads your audio recording as a .webm file and a summary of
your reading stats as a .txt file.
Auto Save: If enabled, automatically downloads your recording and stats as soon as you stop.
EchoScroll currently supports .txt files. Make sure your text is clean and well-formatted for best
results.
This isn't a bug โ it's a known limitation in most mobile browsers like Chrome, Safari, and Brave.
Right now, mobile browsers block the voice recognition tools EchoScroll depends on. That's why you can't see real-time word highlighting when reading aloud on a phone.
But don't worry โ we're building full mobile apps for both iOS and Android!
Until then, use EchoScroll on desktop for the full experience โ and know that you're helping shape what comes next!
The highlighter will attempt to follow you. Minor errors are okay! Just keep reading, and the system will catch up. If it doesn't, you can simply click on your current word to update the location.
Yes! You can change colors or toggle dark mode at any time, even while reading.
Currently, you can download your audio recording as a .webm file and a .txt
file with basic reading stats (like time, word count, and WPM). Additional formats like video or full
transcript export are coming soon.
Check that your browser has permission to use the microphone. In Chrome, click the lock icon next to the URL and make sure mic access is allowed. Also ensure no other app is using your mic and try refreshing the page.
AI features are in development! Weโre actively working on tools that will enhance your experience with voice syncing, accuracy feedback, and smart guidance. Stay tuned โ EchoScroll is getting smarter every week.
